Install the new spark plug by lowering them slowly. Be careful that NO foreign materials fall into the combustion chamber via the spark plug holes.Unplug the electrical connectors from the ignition coils. Remove the 10 mm bolts that hold the ignition coils in place. The most important thing is to tighten the intake plenum bolts to spec as described in the following steps. Please do not add any silicone or gasket sealant here, as it is not necessary. These gaskets are typically integrated into the intake manifold part and don’t necessarily need to be removed. When you remove the intake plenum, you will notice three rubber gaskets between the plenum and the intake manifold. Rubber Gaskets between the plenum and intake manifold.Cover the intake with a clean newspaper so that no foreign object or dirt falls inside the engine. Next, lift the intake manifold and move it aside. Remove one 13 mm bolt on the metal bracket and push the bracket back. Remove the two 10 mm bolts on the back of the intake manifold. These are long bolts and don’t need to come out. Remove the 8mm bolts (in some engines, these may require a T30 Torx bit) that secure the intake plenum (manifold) to the top of the engine.Unplug the air temperature sensor near the throttle body. Disconnect any vacuum tubes connected to the air intake tube. Disconnect the air intake from the throttle body. Disconnect the vacuum lines from the intake manifold. You don’t need to remove any screws to remove the engine cover. Remove the engine cover by pulling it up.All in all, these were worth the $280ish shipped that I paid and would recommend them to someone looking for a bit more power from their 3.6L Ram. This tells me the gasoline has a cleaner burn. What I can say positively about MPG is when I am stuck in traffic (truck just idling) my MPG's do not drop NEARLY as fast as they used too. Back in the summer I was averaging 22 50/50, after I installed the coils I have been averaging 20.5 (same route to work, same cruise control at 65) HOWEVER, I attribute the loss of MPG to the 35 degree weather we've been experiencing these past couple months. My mid-range torque hasn't changed too much, still feels the same, maybe slightly more power. My eTorque system still works perfectly (which is a huge plus). I can absolutely feel the difference, particularly off the line, these coil packs woke the truck up almost in a comedic way, the truck will literally launch. I installed them by myself with a basic harbor freight tool kit, install took me roughly 4 hours, just take your time and take pictures of which bolts go where and you'll have no problem. I installed these coil packs back in November 2020, I actually used the Wrangler JL ones because RIPP didn't have these available for the RAM DT (5th Gen) yet, ALTHOUGH, they are the exact same coil packs. Will fit the following vehicles equipped with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar Engine: Will not degrade or crack even under severe thermal cycling. Engineered to resist humidity, wear, vibration, impact and chemicals such as gasoline, oils and brake fluids. Our dielectric compound completely penetrates coil windings assuring perfect insulation even upon exposure to high voltage conditions. Heavy Duty, high-temperature, epoxy filled housing resists shock and vibration.Sustained power delivery even at high RPM operation. Increased amount of secondary core windings.Higher quality Iron core with stronger laminations.Direct Bolt On Installation - Simply remove and replace.Supercharged or naturally aspirated, the coil packs can be used in either variation!.MOPAR ORANGE high temperature heat resistant outer housing and boot.Highest quality internal components and finish. They are guaranteed to be an improvement over those old weak, crusty factory coil packs.ġ00% Compatible with supercharged and non-supercharged engines. These coils are a direct swap to all 3.6 Pentastar Mopar Cars, Trucks, Jeeps and SUV's. This translates to better MPG, a more responsive throttle input and over all better driving experience when installed. The RIPP High Performance Coils are totally redesigned and engineered to add up to an additional 10-20HP! . Stock or OEM Coils are weak and don't deliver an efficient amount of energy, they perform at a minimum requirement from the factory and perform poorly. What is a coil pack? a coil pack is like a large capacitor that generates spark energy for each individual spark plug during each engine revolution. Looking to improve performance and gas mileage without breaking the bank? Look no further, Introducing the RIPP High Performance Coil Pack System for the 3.6 V6 Pentastar found in your 5th GEN RAM 1500. THEY REQUIRE THE RIPP PERFORMANCE COIL PACK.
